About the Job
The character portrayed is Female, 25-40 years old, open ethnicity. Emma is the girl next door. Grounded, approachable, low-key ‘geeky' rather than an obvious ’nerd’. She is the audience’s way into the story: skeptical at first, but forced to confront very real fear. She’s not a classic scream queen. She’s someone who copes with terror by thinking her way through it until she can’t. This role has no scripted lines. Actors should be able to play subtle psychological horror with actions and emotion. Comfortable working largely alone on camera and responding to off-screen cues and direction.
